Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio
The inaugural 2022 First Lady’s Luncheon benefited Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio, a philanthropic endeavor Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine is passionate about supporting. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio is a book gifting program that mails one age-appropriate book to children each month at no cost to his or her family. This program was brought statewide to Ohio in 2019 under the guidance of First Lady DeWine.
At the luncheon, First Lady DeWine welcomed the incredible Dolly Parton to Ohio to celebrate the statewide success of her Imagination Library book gifting program in Ohio, where every child under the age of five is eligible to enroll for a free monthly book.
“I was so excited to join Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine in celebrating my Imagination Library being available for every child in Ohio!" said Dolly Parton.
First Lady DeWine learned about Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library years ago through her grandchildren, who received books in the mail. She saw the impact these books were having on her own family, and wished for every child across Ohio to have the same opportunity.
When Governor DeWine was elected in 2018, First Lady DeWine made it her mission to create a statewide Imagination Library program so all children could access the program’s free books. In 2019, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio was established and then became available statewide— in all 88 counties— in 2020.
Now, any child between birth and age five can sign up for a monthly high-quality, age-appropriate book at no cost to the family. Families looking to enroll in the program can visit OhioImaginationLibrary.org to sign up today.
